Hi I am John Gilbertson I am a 62 year old ex fisherman from Broadford on the Isle of Skye and I have decided to travel by bicycle around the globe raise money for the Skye community. So have chosen 4 charities on Skye, Crossroads, Macmillan cancer support, Kyleakin Day Centre and the Broadford and Strath Community charity.
"The plan is to connect our island families with those now living across the world. Cycle4Skye represents the charity group based in Broadford. I aim to cycle round the world leaving in July this year and meeting up with as many Skye ex-pats as possible, post our photo on facebook and ask folk to donate a £10 for every photo. The job now is to find as many sponsors/partners for this fundraising effort"
AIM: Fundraise for local charity Crossroads in Skye and Crossroads Scotland by cycling around the world.
ROUTE: When: Leave Skye 24th June to join Macmillan Cancer London Paris bike challenge 7th July. Then continuing on:- to France -Italy - Dubai - Sri Lanka - Thailand _ Australia - New Zealand - South America - North America
